Lake
Balboa is a recent name change from what was known
as West Van Nuys. It is centrally located, just west
of the 405 Freeway and just North of Balboa Park recreation
area and west of the 101 freeway.
There
is a mix of smaller industry in the area, many of
which help support the Van Nuys Airport. The location
is convenient for commuters, being so close to the
above mentioned freeways. Good shopping is close by.
Housing
in this area is mostly smaller, older single family
homes and a good number of apartments. The houses
are mostly entry level and are moderately priced.
Van
Nuys Airport is located here and is the busiest private
airport in the country. The annual Van Nuys Air Show
has grown to be very popular.
