Sylmar
is the northern most area in the San Fernando Valley.
It is right next to the 5 freeway and straddles the
210 freeway.
Sylmar
covers a large area and has several distinct neighborhoods.
The north part of the area has both new housing and
newer industrial parks. There is also a new golf course
in that area, called Cascades Golf Course. Along the
210 freeway, there are many townhome complexes.
The
older parts of Sylmar have smaller, older housing
that is lower level. The newer housing is middle level,
made this way to enhance affordability.
If
you need to commute out of the area for employment,
you will find this easy using the two close freeways.
Pasadena is just 20 easy Freeway minutes away. The
5 freeway heading south can get clogged in the morning
and evening commute times.
